The Anti-Romantic Child: A Story of Unexpected Joy by Priscilla Gilman

Dr. Stephanie Squires, Director of Concordia's Master's Program in Childhood Special Education, will discuss The Anti-Romantic Child: A Story of Unexpected Joy with author Priscilla Gilman. Gilman's acclaimed memoir reveals her experience with her son's developmental disorder, his need for intensive therapies, and the special schooling that dramatically altered the course she had imagined for her family.  Using Wordsworth's poetry as a touchstone, Gilman speaks intimately of her journey through crisis and disenchantment to a place of peace and resilience.
